Boose Roofing

Jim Boose. Boose Roofing. Been in business now since 1982. How long have you owned the Equipter? It will be 3 years this week, March 6th. How has the Equipter performed for you and your company? It’s unbelievable. We couldn’t work with out it. The old days of double handling the debris when it gets on the ground are now gone. It’s the best piece of equipment I think that we’ve bought, absolutely. What is the response of homeowners? Does it seem to impress them? They’re amazed. The biggest concern with people has been that it’s not gonna mess up their lawn, is it? I said NO, absolutely it’s got the big fat tires and we also have the mats in case there is any wet grass or muddy conditions. They’re amazed because when we leave there is nothing on the ground at all. They’ve been thrilled to death. We do a lot of high end homes, people are very particular. Almost everybody has a pool so if we leave one nail behind we’re the enemy. Before the Equipter we used to have that occasionally that a nail would blow out of the gutter or the down spout when it rains and we weren’t there to get it. They would call me up and say “Is this any way you run your business?” But since we’ve had the Equipter the only thing on the ground is one little piece of potato chip. It’s a beautiful machine. Are you able to get jobs because you own the Equipter? I just sold one last week because of the brochures that Aaron gave me. I left it with the homeowner, explained it to him. They called me up and said that’s what we want. We want a professional that has the best equipment and that cares about our lawn and our premises. Do you have any doubt as to whether the Equipter pays for itself? One sentence will fix that for you. I payed mine off in 6 months. And I was thrilled with that. So everything now is profit. It’s saving me a thousand dollars a week in labor. Can you explain how it paid for itself in that amount of time? I got rid of three guys the first week, when we got the Equipter, three clean-up guys. The rake leaners and the guys that just shuffled around all day. I got rid of them. And we’ve never had to go back to clean-up guys at all. We clean up now at the end of the day in five minutes, we’re in our trucks and gone. And the buggy just sits there waiting for more. What is the response of your employees to the Equipter? They’re thrilled. I still have the same guys I had before I had the Equipter? And they’ll never leave now. One guy did leave for awhile, laid him off and he couldn’t wait to come back. He was sick of working for a guy with wheel barrows and shovels. They love the buggy. I have people ask me all the time if I would hire them because they wouldn’t have to clean up anymore. It’s great for moral. My crew is not worn out by the end of the week anymore. By the time Thursday would come around we’d be so destroyed and worn out from shoveling all week that now we’re as fresh as we are on Monday and we get a lot better job done. We get done earlier in the day and still have time to play. Tell us what you mentioned before about less time for your guys at the chiropractor. Back problems are the biggest problem with roofing. I was always going to the chiropractor probably three to four times a month. Getting my spine aligned, back aches out. My whole crew was going all the time. I’ve been to the chiropractor once now since we’ve bought the Equipter. And that’s been three years. None of my crew has been to the chiropractor in three years. And they are smiling all day now rather than complaining and moaning. Do you have any regrets that you purchased the Equipter? None whatsoever! It’s been a blessing. It really is. And the best piece of equipment that I’ve ever bought. It’s been well worth the money. How long have you had the Equipter and how well has it held up for you? 3 years this week that we’ve had it. The maintenance has been minimum. Oil changes and greasing on a regular basis. But that’s about it. We keep it clean, we even wax it. We have real clean equipment with my company. We believe in having the best equipment. Do every house like its moms. The Equipter is a good selling point. It’s performed perfectly. It’s a real well built machine, very strong. Would you recommend any changes? No, I can’t say that I would. It’s perfectly designed. We’ve gone over it many times looking for things to change. But Aaron really figured out a quality machine to help us out in the roofing business. Anything else you would like to say yet? Everybody should have one. I first balked at the price when I saw it on a website. But then I realized that it’s just like buying a truck and it does a lot more for you than a truck does. It saves you physically, mentally and it’s a lot of fun to operate. It does a beautiful job. Handles 4,000 pounds with no problem. It doesn’t destroy the landscape. And I can’t say enough good things about it. I would even pay more for it. I’ve never had a problem with the price at all. It’s been very well spent. That’s about it. Everybody should have one. If you wanna do any roofing, residential removal, you should have one. It’s the only way to go. Thank-you
